A Letter to No One

lyrics

Lately things just don't seem the same
I've had all these thoughts racing through my brain
I keep wondering am I right or wrong?
Is all I can do is just write this sad song?

People have changed since I've been in school
They're taking their lives and rewriting the rules
It's like everybody's walking around with no hope, just hopeless
How did misery and depression become so contagious?

Tell me why?

I'm so sick and tired of everyone putting each other down
What happened to the good old days when we just goofed around?
Just little children smiling, laughing, and free
How amazing the simple things, that's all we could see

We played our little hearts out, we played till the dusk
We didn't want to go inside, but our parents said we must
Talking about things we had no idea what we were saying
Just planning the next day and looking forward to playing

And now that I'm older, we all I know I must work
Dealing with all the headaches and trying to ignore the jerks
Hoping the work week will come to an end
Looking for someone I can call my true friend

People look at me weird for the things that I say
But it's just the child inside, just asking to play
Just because we're older doesn't mean we're that different
People are so close-minded and act so ignorant

(Make it stop)
I just want it all to be over
